Patronem letošního ročníku soutěže AMADEUS je světově uznávaný klavírista Lukáš Vondráček

"Amadeus 1995 byl první soutěží, které jsem se zúčastnil a ve které jsem uspěl. Získal jsem tak motivaci a povzbuzení do další práce a odnesl si spoustu krásných zážitků. Velice rád na Brno a Amadea vzpomínám. Soutěžícím přeji hlavně radost z hudby a trpělivost na dlouhé muzikantské cestě. Věřím, že soutěž Amadeus je pro mladé talentované klavíristy ideálním odrazovým můstkem."

Time limits and categories
The competition has one round. It is not compulsory to be a student at a music school or institution. Participants are categorised according to year of birth.

Time limits must be strictly observed.
If a competitor play one longer composition (for example, Mozart Variations), time limit may be extended by 30 seconds in categories I  - III and 1 minute in categories IV  - VI. Works for solo piano are permi ed. It is compulsory to play from memory. The number of works played is unlimited.
 
Changes to repertoire must be announced in writing before 20.9.2020 to Tato e-mailová adresa je chráněna před spamboty. Pro její zobrazení musíte mít povolen Javascript. 
Later changes to programmes will not be accepted and will lead to disqualification of the competitor!
The order of contestants for the competition will be determined via a draw during festival „Mozart´s Children” 2020 and published on the competition website.
 

Prizes

The jury grants these prizes in each category: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and Honourable Mention. 
All prizes can be shared upon the jury´s recommendation or some might be skipped. All contestants who win one of the prizes receive a diploma, gifts and the title of a laureate on Winners‘ Concert. Program of the concert will be determined by the jury. 
 
Concert performances for chosen laureates:
  • An offer to perform a concert with the symphony orchestra.
  • Grand concert in Villa Tugendhat.
The jury may decide to award these special prizes amount to 55 000 CZK: 
  • The prize of the governor of South Moravia, for the absolute winner of the competition
  • The Mayor of Brno´s prize for best interpretation of a work by W. A. Mozart
  • The prize of the mayor of Brno  - Žabovřesky for the best Czech competitor
  • The prize of the mayor of Brno - Centre for the best competitor from Brno
  • The prize of the mayor of Brno-Žebětín for the best foreign competitor
  • opportunity to record a profile CD
  • The prize for the youngest competitor
The jury may decide to award a special prize to teachers for their efforts and preparation of the contestants. Special prizes need not be awarded and can be divided. The decision of the jury is final.

  • Information on the application form must be correct and true. Teachers or legal representatives are responsible for the accuracy of information.

Competition schedule and rehearsal schedule (on Steinway piano) will be made public and available to view on www.amadeusbrno.cz on 10th October 2020.
The organisers offer practice facilities only for duration of the competition days and winners´concert.
By sending in an application form to us, the legal representative of the contestant agrees to photos to be taken and a recording to be made free of charge of the contestant´s performance in the competition and also at the concert of laureates and its free use by public media.

Jury
The jury consists of 5 members, all of whom are well-known and respected Czech and foreign pedagogues and artists. The secretary of the jury is a teacher from one of the organising music schools and the conduct of the jury is overseen by the chairman. The jury gives points between 0 and 25.
The points from all the jurors are added together and an average value is calculated. If a juror’s points differ from the average by 3 points or more, this juror’s mark is crossed out and not taken into consideration and a new average value is calculated. The jury marks all performances after all the contestants have played within each category and the order is established. Jurors’ marks are public during the competition. Jurors are not permi ed to mark their own students or their family members.

Later changes to programmes will not be accepted and will lead to disqualification of the competitor!

The order of the contestants will be determined by drawing lots, which will be published on the competition website

 

Prizes

The jury grants these prizes in each category: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and Honourable Mention.

All prizes can be shared upon the jury´s recommendation or some might be skipped. All contestants who win one of the prizes receive a diploma, gifts and the title of a laureate on Winners‘ Concert. Program of the concert will be determined by the jury.

Závěrečným koncertem laureátů skončil 9. února v brněnském Besedním domě jubilejní dvacátý ročník dětské klavírní soutěže Amadeus, která je pořádána na paměť vystoupení tehdy jedenáctiletého Mozarta v Brně. Tento fakt dal soutěži do vínku kuriozní horní věkovou hranici – právě jedenáct let. Starší již nemají šanci se soutěže zúčastnit.

Takový byl Amadeus 2012

Letos již po devatenácté se v moravské metropoli Brně setkaly nadané děti z řady zemí, aby předvedly svůj talent a dovednost v mezinárodní mozartovské soutěži pro mladé klavíristy do 11 let - AMADEUS 2012. Ve třech dnech 23. – 25. února, historický Besední dům doslova praskal ve švech. Hemžily se tu desítky soutěžících, jejich starostlivých rodičů a mírně nervózních pedagogů. Atmosféra byla neopakovatelná. Ti starší si plně uvědomovali závažnost chvíle–okamžik pravdy, který rázem zúročí všechny předcházející dlouhé hodiny přípravy, cvičení a výuky. Udělali jsme pro úspěch dost? Mohli jsme udělat více? Dospělým jsou tyto pochybnosti vlastní, avšak samotní mladí soutěžící si je zpravidla vůbec nepřipouštějí.

Koncert ve Vídni

Ve středu 23. února se v krásném prostředí vídeňského Mozarthausu konal slavnostní koncert žáků základních uměleckých škol v Brně, kteří získali ocenění na soutěži Amadeus. Koncert v samém srdci Vídně přilákal pozornost široké veřejnosti.

5 smajlíků pro Amadea

/zamyšlení nad trochu jinou soutěží/

Když jsem přijal pozvání do poroty letošního Amadea v Brně, nebylo to proto, že bych cítil nedostatek svého porotování v dětských soutěžích, ale zajímalo mě, jak  si tato soutěž sui generis,s neobvyklou věkovou hranicí 11 let a s velmi úzkým repertoirem „Mozart a jeho současníci“ vede v konkurenci s relativně velkou nabídkou soutěží pro mladé klavíristy. Amadeus má již 20-letou tradici a mnoho dnešních hvězd i hvězdiček na vysokých školách se může pyšnit laureátstvím této soutěže, jejíž neobvyklá horní věková hranice je odvozena od skutečnosti, že tehdy 11-letý Wolfi Mozart koncertoval se svou sestřičkou v brněnské Redutě. Musím říci, že jsme spolu s kolegy v mezinárodní porotě strávili v Brně velmi příjemné tři dny a tak jako děti v prvních třídách ve škole dostávají za něco mimořádně povedeného od paní učitelky do notýsku smajlíky, chtěl bych letošnímu Amadeovi udělit takových smajlíků hned pět za pět skutečností, které mě opravdu potěšily.
